9th June 2008 - GROUP TWO QUEENSLAND GUINEAS WIN FOR TURFFONTEIN
Unlucky not to get a run in the Group One Stradbroke Handicap on saturday, Turffontein has recorded a strong win today in the Group Two Queensland Guineas. This horse has been very consistent and very tough, having begun his preperation in Melbourne in January he has since raced without luck in Syndey and now in Brisbane. Still a colt, his value will soar and with some nice races ahead of him in the spring his value can only go up. Another black type victory for Anthony Cummings and Diamond Thoroughbreds... This has been our 4th horse this racing season to record a black type victory, and all these young horses have a very bright future!
30th May 2008 - Stable Update
Diamond Thoroughbreds have a few horses attending the races and a few that have come back into the stable getting closer to returning to the racetrack
Tagus - A half brother to Casino Prince and is starting to reach his potential. He will be hard to beat from barrier 8 on saturday with luck in running at Eagle Farm
Turffontein - 23rd in the order of entry for the Stradbroke, a real light weight chance if he gains a start. Otherwise he will race on the Monday of the long weekend in the Queensland Guineas
Amazar - Getting closer to racing, had an easy trial on monday and will need one more trial before racing but he is coming along nicely in his work. His hoof is on the till, expect him to be winning when he does return
Tsavo - Returned to the stables today and looks fantastic. He has bulked up in the rear and is very forward in condition, has done great at the pre-trainers and he will be trialling him soon... keep an eye on this bloke!
Phoenician Prince - We have taken our time with this fellow, he has been gelded and now a more focussed animal. His work has been solid on the back of an encouraging trial at the Pre-Trainers. Bred to get over ground but we expect him to be very competitive in the shorted distances when he makes his race track debut.
Dealer Principal - Enjoying the lush green grass before returning for a spring campaign - Cox Plate is his aim with a host of good races before he attempts Australia's greatest weight for age race
Red Lord - Also in the paddock, his eye is on the first tuesday in November - the Melbourne Cup. This well bred gelding is starting to come of age and we will aim to qualify him for the big race.
Zed Alert, Regal troche, and Tuskar Rock are all going well in there respective campaigns. Zed Alert & Regal Troche have been unlucky with injury, but have plenty of ability to showcase when they do get back to the track. Tuskar Rock will be racing in Melbourne in early june so watch out for him!
We have plenty more nice horses in Melbourne and in the paddocks at the moment, the Diamond Thoroughbreds stable of horses are hitting there straps and our horses are consistently racing in Australia's biggest races. We have a few nice yearlings on hand now, so if your interested in racing a horse with Anthony Cummings contact us now before you miss out. These horses will be winning races when they make the track!
26th May 2008 - GROUP ONE THIRD FOR TURFFONTEIN
I don't think there is any shame in running third to a champion sprinter in Apache Cat, and after again drawing poorly and getting a long way back 'Turffontein' flashed down the outside to grab third place against the older and more seasoned horses. In a cracker of a trial for the Group One Stradbroke Handicap, Turffy drops 6kgs for the race and if the barrier draw is kinder to him then what it has been he is a real lightweight chance of taking it out. This horse has been in training since January this year, and Anthony has done a tremendous job of keeping his mind on the job. Another Group One victory is just around the corner for Diamond Thoroughbreds.
23rd May 2008 - Turffontein for the Doomben 10,000
One of the most consistent horses in training at the moment is the 3 year old colt 'turffontein'. Luck has deserted him in the barrier draws at all of his Sydney starts, especially last start where there were genuine excuses for him when going down fighting to Royal Discretion in the Listed Hawkesbury Guineas. He lines up in a much harder event this saturday in the Doomber 10,000 but with luck in running he will be charging home late. His ultimate aim is the BTC Stradbroke on the 7th of June, so tomorrow will be a nice race for him in lead up to the strabroke as he will drop a lot of weight for that race. Diamond Thoroughbreds have had numerous Group 1 runners this year including the Rosehill Guineas winner 'Dealer Principal', lets hope Turffontein can beat the older horses over the next few weeks.
The stable is producing winner after winner lately, and no doubt all the stable followers have beaming smiles at the moment. Anthony has produced most notably Dealer Principal, Casino Prince, Red Lord & Sidereus to win in black type races over the last month and all at great odds. Tomorrow we have many good chances again at Rosehill for Golden Slipper day in some very open races and with a little bit of luck we expect all of them to be fighting out the finish. So keep following the horses trained by A. Cummings and you'll definitely get a run for your money. Good Luck!
For any interested buyers, the Inglis select and classic sales are about to begin. The Inglis sales have produced many group one winners over the years including our own 'Dealer Principal'. Anthony will be out in force again purchasing for existing stable clients as well as potential clients. If you have a type of horse or a budget in mind, please don't hesitate to contact me at lachlan@diamondthoroughbreds.com.au to discuss how we can help. These are the last of the yearling sales for 2008 and I think the best has been saved till last, so dont miss out!
Dealer Principal confirmed his class with a dominant victory in the Group One Rosehill Guineas. In what was a fairytale for all concerned, the gelding showed he has the ability to match the country's leading three year olds. After travelling on the rails in a midfield position, jockey Peter Robl elected to stay near the rails in the straight and Dealer Principal mowed them down to win. “He’s a very good horse,” Dealer Principal’s trainer Anthony Cummings said. “To do what this horse has done in his first preparation is a real credit to the horse". Dealer Principal will now target the $1.8 Million Group One AJC Derby next start and with improvement still remaining, he should be extremely hard to beat. Congratulations to all the connections!
The ever reliable and consistent group performer Casino Prince showed that with even luck he is more then capable of mixing it with Australia's best over the mile by winning the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes today at Randwick. Aided by a classic Damien Oliver ride, Casino Prince wound up strongly down the outside in the straight to power past his rivals in the final few strides. Anthony stated after the race "of all the horses in this race he's the most deserving of a group one win". Congratulations to all concerned!
Red Lord is on track for the Group 1 BMW Stakes (2400m) at Rosehill and Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick over the Easter carnival after recording his first stakes success in the $80,000 Listed Cadbury Boost Parramatta Cup (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
In a roughhouse race, Peter Robl took Red Lord back to last before securing an inside run in the straight. He overpowered the veterans County Tyrone and Spirit Of Tara to win by one and a quarter lengths.
He has now been installed favourite for the Sydney Cup, a race he has been set for since the spring. Red Lord is starting to put it all together now and will prove hard to beat in whatever race he contests if saturday is anything to go by.
It takes the overall record of Red Lord to 4 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third from 24 starts for earnings of $270,147.
Diamond Thoroughbreds’ has another winner, this time down in Melbourne with highly talented 3yo individual Turffontein (Johannesburg X Spirit of Grace)
Turffontein showed the benefit of practice at his second start the Melbourne way of going with his win in the Wellington Racing Club Stakes over 1400 metres at Caulfield on Saturday. First up around the Melbourne way of going he was awkward and on the wrong leg which led to a below par performance. A few minor adjustments to gear and in his training saw the best on Saturday that produced a good strong win.
Turffontein ($6) settled just off the speed in fourth spot and enjoyed the perfect run in transit to beat Pillar of Hercules and a tiring El Mandon battling into third after settling handy to the speed.
Anthony said that the Johannesburg colt derived great benefit from his first look at Caulfield when close-up behind Bundle O’Gold two weeks ago.
“The DPI mucked us around with the travel at his first Melbourne start and we only got here the day before and then he raced on his Sydney leg and I thought his first-up effort was terrific. Today he got on his right leg and did very well. He will improve and go on to better things.”
Other runners on the day were Red Lord who is heading towards the Sydney Cup and Maslins Beach who will win this preparation.
Anthony ended the Melbourne spring carnival on Saturday on a high when good stayer Zavite out-slugged his rivals to win the $250,000 G3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2500m) at Flemington.
The win fully qualifies Zavite for next year’s Melbourne Cup and puts us in a strong position 12-months out from the race after Red Lord’s impressive victory in the Lavazza Long Black over 2800m on Cup day.
Saturdays race was run at a strong gallop courtesy of the free going import Cefalu who strung the field out in the middle stages while Zavite did the chasing, clear of the remainder of the pack.
Entering the straight Zavite had closed the gap and didn’t take long to head Cefalu before gutsing it out and thwarting Cefalu’s efforts to fight back.
It was a deserved win for Zavite one of the carnivals most consistent stayers, only blotting his record with his failure in the SAAB last Saturday where Anthony thought the horse had genuine excuses.
“He had to work too hard early,” he said.
“He came off a wide gate and had to work double out of the straight the first time, he was wide, and they then ran very strong sectionals all the way.
“With a kinder gate today, he came out and didn’t have to spend a penny travelling in behind and then he showed the type of form he’d shown at his previous three starts.”
The favourite Completion found the jump in class beyond him coming from back in the field to make up some ground in the straight and run into third.
Zavite carried 54kg and paid $13. The 2500 metres was run in 2.38.57 with the final 600 metres covered in 36.42.
27th October 2007 - Maslin's flies the flag.
As you all will very much know by now the Equine Influenza (EI) has brought the Racing Industry in NSW and QLD to its knees.
There have been no races for quite some time for our Randwick Stable of horses to compete in and there won’t be races at Randwick until December.
This has not stopped our small team of 5 down in Melbourne (Caulfield) from racing. Maslins Beach has flown the flag magnificently on Saturday by winning the Group 3 Inglis Mile.
Maslins Beach and Autumn Jeuney shared black type success when the two mares couldn’t be separated by the photo finish in the $120,000, 1600m race at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
Both specked at longer odds in betting, Maslins Beach and Autumn Jeuney went stride for stride over the final 100 metres.
Maslins Beach appeared to have momentum in her favour but after five-minute delay, a dead-heat was declared.
“I thought my mare might have got there but I’ll take a dead-heat,” our jockey Damien Oliver said.
Maslins Beach firmed from $8.50 to $7.50 while Autumn Jeuney carried $8.50 to $7.50 support.
The result given us reason to celebrate after equine influenza has swept through the Randwick stables.
14th July 2007 - Turffy does the job.
Well travelled two-year-old Turffontein added his name to trainer Anthony spring roster with an emphatic win at Rosehill the other day.
“I think he has the makings of a stakes horse,” Anthony said after Turffontein overcame difficulties to win the Gaypak Mandarins Handicap (1200m).
Jockey Nash Rawiller, who was forced to change course twice in the straight on the colt, believes Anthony is right in his thinking by making spring plans.
The promising Turffontein edges out Mr Unforgettable at Rosehill today.“You’ve got a nice horse on your hands,” he told connections.
Rawiller literally zig-zagged his way to victory on Turffontein.
After trying to push his way to the outside, Rawiller changed tact before switching to the outside again late in the race.
“Even though I had to change direction I was always pretty confident,” Rawiller said.
“Especially when I got to the 100 [metres].”
Starting an $8 chance, Turffontein charged late to tip out Mr Unforgettable ($9) by a short neck.
Turffontein began stable life in Melbourne before heading to Sydney only to be sent to Queensland last month to avoid wet tracks
He missed the start on debut when runner-up at Eagle Farm on June 27.
Anthony said Turffontein was entered for the $1 million Group II Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill on September 1.
“I’d like to see if he can get to the Caulfield Guineas further into the spring,” Cummings said.
10th May 2007 - Nudist Girl wins.
Anthony returns from holidays today and will be pleased to find out Maslin’s Beach broke her maiden status with victory in the Heat of the Moment Handicap over 1400m at Warwick Farm yesterday.
The three-year-old daughter of Flying Spur, Maslin’s Beach hasn’t had the best of luck at recent starts but there were no such problems today. Well ridden by top hoop Glen Boss, she started great from a good barrier and at the 300m mark took an inside run to win convincingly.
A highly strung filly, the win was quite special for one of our track work riders and race day foreman Harold Light. ”She’s a real nervy little filly that has needed plenty of tender loving care,” Harold said. ”She’s got the ability as we saw today but she gets so stirred up. She’s coming around so that’s the main thing.”
Maslin’s Beach had support in the ring firming from $5.50 into $4.80 with the favourite being the John Hawkes-trained Portugal who was backed from $2.60 into $2.40. She was named after the first ever nudist beach over near Adelaide in South Australia.
After beginning well, Maslin’s Beach and jockey Glen Boss took advantage of a good barrier and travelled in behind the speed. Approaching the turn Maslin’s Beach didn’t appreciate being cramped up and appeared to be dropping out but once she had some space around her she darted back towards the rails and sprinted quickly putting an end to the race in a couple of strides.
That win will do her the world of good, and she will now end up in the Queensland carnival somewhere. Her confidence gets better and better each day and there are more wins in store, hopefully a nice race in Queensland this time in.
Maslin’s Beach 56.5kg ($4.80) (G.Boss) defeated Lady Anabell 58kg ($26) (P.Wells a2) by two and a half lengths with Attend 58kg ($8) (T.Angland a1.5) a half neck away in third. The 1400m was run in 1.24.57 with the final 600m run in 36.21.
14th April 2007 - Untapped potential.
Tsavo, a talented Lion Hunter colt, has now had 2 starts for a second and a win, both at Hawkesbury in the last three weeks. Anthony will now nominate him for the big $125,000 Hawkesbury Guineas on Saturday 21st April 2007. There is 50% for sale in the talented colt and is a must to see at our stable now.
8th March 2007 - 2 Winners in one week
After Sir Interdane's solid win last week there has been another great return to racing by Red Lord yesterday.
Winning at Warwick Farm over 1400 metres gives Diamond Thoroughbred clients 2 wins in 1 week. The $21 starting price was very nice indeed. After commencing well from a wide barrier Tim Clark eased Red Lord to the back half of the field where he settled nicely. Approaching the home turn there was 2 strides where he became unbalanced - Tim didn't panic got the horse right and stormed down the outside to a memorable win.
Well done to all concerned - he definately has more wins in store for the owners.

| 26th February 2007 - Another 'Won' for Sir Interdane
A very pleasing result on Saturday at Kembla Grange with the Diamond Thoroughbred's owned Sir Interdane storming down the outside to win in the last bound over 1200m. Sir Interdane has always run well first up and did not let us down this time in also. He began well but on settling from the wide barrier Linda Meech (jockey) had to ease back on him to settle at the rear of the field. On approaching the home turn he was second last with the jockey remaining very calm until the 200m mark when she pulled the whip and under hard riding got the best from the horse to win in the last stride.

December 2006 - Prize money increases.
From
the first day of the New Year the Australian Jockey
Club and Sydney Turf Club will increase prizemoney levels
for all forms of metropolitan racing.
Metropolitan Saturday meetings will increase to $65,000
while mid week Metropolitan will increase to $25,000
and the AJC plan to pay a minimum of $40,000 for public
holiday meetings.
This increase will add a further $4 million into Sydney
racing to bring total prizemoney to be paid during 2007
at Sydney metropolitan tracks to over $71 million.
In addition, owners starting horses in NSW will continue
to receive the unplaced starters rebates and the chance
to win significant BOBS bonuses for eligible horses.
In what is a positive attempt from the clubs to increase
field sizes for Saturday racing prizemoney will paid
down to 8th place with the split as follows:
1st - $40,000
2nd - $12,400
3rd - $5,600
4th - $2,600
5th - $1,400
6th - $1,000
7th - $1,000
8th - $1,000
This
will further benefit owners and their ability to cover
the cost of owning a racehorse or a share in a racehorse.
If your horse races twice in a month and runs at least
5th, 6th, 7th or 8th your training costs for that month
will be recouped.
The AJC & STC should be congratulated on this
initiative.
8th December
2006 - 2 more winners, nearly 3.
We received
an early Christmas present last night at Canterbury
when Zeinab and Natural Man produced strong efforts
to win their races. It could have been a brilliant night
except for the fact that Triple Down couldn't quite
pick up the winner of his race and finished up running
second.
Zienab was purchased by Anthony from an existing client
for a potential new stable owner but the new prospect
pulled out of the deal leaving us with total ownership
of the filly.
”For some reason or another he reneged on buying
her but we are not complaining, she’s still for
sale if anyone is interested.”
Zeinab was having her first Sydney start after transferring
from our Caulfield base in Victoria and acquitted herself
very well to racing the Sydney way of going.
After settling at the tail of the field in a slowly
run race, Zeinab quickened sharply on straightening
and wore down the leaders over the final 50m.
”She’s been going pretty good and has adapted
to the Sydney way of racing well, she’s got a
good turn of foot and tries very hard. ”
”There is another race for her at Warwick Farm
over 1400m next week then there isn’t a great
deal around for her so I’ll probably just give
her a freshen up but she has more wins in her that’s
for sure.”

2006 - A winning double.
Anthony is
predicting bigger things for his two-year-old Solo
Flyer who made a winning debut in the Cannon Employees
Rock Handicap over 1100m at Randwick on Saturday.
"His pedigree says he shouldn't be here for another
12-months. He's out of a sister to the Melbourne Cup
winner Brew. Wait until he gets to a mile and a quarter
then he'll be hard to catch -he's obviously pretty
talented."
Solo Flyer had good support in the betting ring
firming from $17 in $12.
After travelling three wide on the speed, Solo
Flyer took over in the straight before defying a fast
finishing Espurante over the closing stages.
"He's a Magic Millions horse and if he pulls
up ok he'll be back here in three weeks for the Canonbury,
if we get what we expect in that race he'll head north
for the $1,000,000 Magic Millions race."
Solo Flyer 55kg ($12) (H.Bowman) defeated Espurante
53kg ($3.80) (G.Boss) by a short neck with Cajou 54kg
($3) (R.Quinn) a length away in third.
The 1100m was run in 1.03.75 and the last 600m
was covered in 35.41.
It was a two state double for Anthony who won earlier
in the day at Moonee Valley with Deloraine at very good
odds as well.
"We are pleased
with the way the Melbourne stable is going, it's only
been up and running for seven months and has produced
it's share of winners and gives us options for some
horse to race in Melbourne.

Solo Flyer winning at Randwick on Saturday.
23rd October
2006 - Black Type for Roanoke.
The stable
has continued it's good run by winning the $75,000 Listed
Tattersall's Cup over 2400m on Saturday at Randwick.
Roanoke (Danehill x Lakab) has now produced another
win over the longer distance and seems to have found
a purple patch of form. This win entitles him to go
back to Melbourne and have a crack at some of the bigger
races down there.

2006 - It keeps getting better.
Another great result in the $100,000 Listed Fillies
and Mares race down in Melbourne yesterday. The very
honest mare 'Gawne' has relished the trip down south
to our Caulfield stables by convincingly winning her
first Black Type race.
Godolfin's stable rider Kerrin McEvoy produced
a copy book ride to claim his first winner in Australia
for some time. "She really let down and produced a great
run on straightening", Kerrin said.
Gawne started at the very nice odds of 13-1
but performed more like a 3-1 chance. She will now be
set for another race over the Melbourne Carnival
in a couple of weeks time.
Anthony has now produced 9 winners from 15 starters
in 2 states over the last 3 weeks for a fantastic result
for all our owner/clients. There has been a very close
second and a third from the 15 starters to
add to the impressive figures.
13th October
2006 - A Treble in two states.
The
run of winners continues with the stable on fire at
the moment - Red Arrow winning as the short priced
favourite in Race 1 at Wyong yesterday. The other
big news was the "stayers double" Anthony trained at
Bendigo in Victoria - Rednex and Zavite both getting
up in the two staying races on the day at the good odds
of 10-1 each.
7th October
2006 - Back to Back Spring Champion Stakes.
Anthony has
made it back to back Spring Champion Stakes when lightly
raced three-year-old Teranaba ran the best race of his
short career in today's $400,000 Group 1 Thrifty Spring
Champion Stakes over 2000m at Randwick.
Last year Anthony pulled off a similar result when Hotel
Grand led all the way to win the race. This year Teranaba
started at the unbelievable TAB odds of $118.
Teranaba began quickly and took up the running with
All Black Gold overracing early before settling
outside the leader while being trailed by He's No Pie
Eater with the favoured runners Tuesday Joy
and Mearas back towards the tail of the field.
Teranaba was able to get away with some easy sectionals
mid race and on straightening kicked strongly with the
pack chasing gamely behind him. Jockey Larry Cassidy
kept driving Teranaba ($118 TAB) along and to the horse's
credit he kept finding, fighting off the challengers
to win by a half neck from All Black Gold ($7) with
He's No Pie Eater ($21) running third a half head away.
Anthony said
to all the owners "last weeks race was the best
barrier trial he'll ever have," referring to Teranaba's
luckless run in the Dulcify Quality.
"It is the best the horse has presented in his career
and the performance matched it.
It's all come together for a great result and he'll
head to Melbourne for a couple of races with his main
aim being the Derby."
3rd October
2006 - Two from two
Anthony struck two early blows at Warwick Farm yesterday
with runners in the first two races with both of them
winning.
He started the day with a very good staying performance
by Roanoke (Danehill x Lakab) to win the BigPond Sport
Handicap over 2400m in class (5) record time. The time
for the 2400m was 2.31.21 and the last 600m was run
in 33.97.
In a field of only six, Roanoke was trapped three wide
early but apprentice jockey Tim Clark soon sent the
son of Danehill forward to sit outside the leader -
aided by an extremely slow middle section of the race
Roanoke showed great acceleration entering the straight
to cruise to a four and a half length victory.
”That was a strong staying performance, he has
stepped up to the mark once he has got to a mile and
a quarter. He’s still 12-months away from his
true potential as he’s still not there mentally
or physically” Anthony said.
Anthony then produced impressive three-year-old winner
Little Sai Wan (Over x Jersey) in the CVD Indoor Bias
Bowling Club Handicap over 1400m. Again it was run in
class record time - 1.22.50 and the last 600m was run
in 35.22.
The win of Little Sai Wan was another good performance
as he did a number of things wrong and was checked at
the 600m loosing about two lengths before coming down
the outside in the straight and finishing too strongly.
He’s still got a bit to learn but is a nice horse
- he has a good future ahead of him,” Anthony
said.
Look for little Sai Wan in a good race down in Melbourne
over the carnival.
23rd September
2006 - My Lord Red Lord.
The impeccably bred Red Lord (Redoute's
Choice x Dame Cath) put his best foot forward today
and at his 4th race start won his Maiden race at Kembla
Grange. The time for the race was 1.37.07s which is
a new class record with his final 600m a very slick
33.24s.
Jockey Ryan
Wiggins was very impressed with the colts performance
but said, "He still has a lot to learn. There are
one or two things he hasn't got straight in his head
yet but is smart enough to learn".
Being by Redoute's
Choice the BOBS bonus comes in very handy for connections
and with improvement in the horse more wins are in store
for him.
24th August
2006 - Is Teranaba a Hotel Grand ?
Yesterday's
running of the Cup Day Maiden Handicap for three-year-olds
over 1200m at Warwick Farm proved to be action aplenty
with Teranaba winning both the race and then the protest.
Michael Rodd the jockey of the runner-up Nicaragua
lodged an objection against the winner for alleged interference
at the 200m and then again near the winning post.
The official winning margin was a nose but stewards
dismissed the objection.
"It was a minor brush, not enough for us to
change the placings," Acting chief steward Allan Reardon
said.
In what always promised to be the highlight race
of the day with the debut run of the John Hawkes-trained
$1.1 million Redoute's Choice colt, Mearas who the punters
rallied for, after getting out to $3.50, crunched the
price back into $2.80.
The race was run at a frantic tempo with Teranaba,
leading on the rails with Killer Dana and Nicaragua
applying pressure while the $1.1 million colt Mearas
was struggling to keep up and drifted back to the tail
of the field.
In the straight Teranaba and Nicaragua settled down
for a war and went head to head for the length of the
straight with Catchword, Crown Willie and Test Edition
jumping out of the ground late. On the line there 0.4
of a length between the winner, Teranaba and Test Edition
in fifth place.
"Who needs
a whip," Anthony said to Jim Cassidy on dismounting,
referring to the fact that Cassidy had dropped his
whip in the straight.
"Teranaba, the ride of the race, was harrowing. He's
a big loop with plenty of ability but not many brains,
just a big teenager. We'll pay-up for the Golden Rose
but it's a bit of a forlorn hope with only $15,000
in prizemoney but I think he's up to that standard.
I'd like to go onto the Spring Champion and do what
we did last year with Hotel Grand," Anthony said.
Teranaba 56kg ($7.50) (J.Cassidy) defeated Nicaragua
56.5kg ($4.40) (M.Rodd) by a nose with Catchword 53.5kg
($11) (T.Clark a1.5) another nose away in third.
The time of the race, 1.10.80 broke the previous
class record set by another expensive Woodlands yearling
purchase, Manton with the last 600m run in 35.01.
If Teranaba doesn't make the $1million Golden Rose
field, Anthony plans to set a similar preparation for
the horse as he did last year with Hotel Grand which
encompasses races like the Ming Dynasty Quality, Spring
Stakes at Newcastle, Tulloch Stakes and Spring Champion
Stakes.

2006
The Diamond Thoroughbred horse
that Anthony purchased at the Magic Millions sale
last year has won his first ever start at Newcastle
on Saturday.
Little Sai Wan ( Over x Jersey ) was a
$40,000 purchase and has started to repay connections
from day one.
The $10 starting price was nice for all
concerned as well.

- The 'won' that got away.
In
very heavy conditions Sir Interdane went down
by a long neck at Warwick Farm yesterday.
Second last on the turn and 12 lengths off the
lead, Sir Interdane really motored to the line
and in 2 more strides would have won the race.
His effort was nothing short of sensational
as he was the widest runner coming down the outside
fence when making his run.
His record speaks for itself having just
had 7 starts for a win, one 2nd and two 3rds.
